Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu (1,350m) Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Today is the day where you will be briefed about the trek and also you will have a chance to check all your equipments and buy/rent anything that you do not have. Also, you can spend the day exploring the local markets of Kathmandu. |
Day 2: Day Fly to Lukla (2800m, 40 minutes), trek to Phakding (2,651m, 3-4 hour trek, 8km) After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and head to the airport in order to catch a flight Lukla. From Kathmandu, you will board a small aircraft to fly towards Lukla during which you will get spectacular panoramic views of the mighty Himalayas and you will also catch a glimpse of the Everest. On reaching Lukla, a guide will receive you and you will begin your trek to Phakding. |
Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m, 5-6 hours, 10-12km) Today the trek will take you through a number of suspension bridges. After passing through the Sagarmatha Park entrance (1,000rs for overseas visitors), the trail passes through the village of Jorsale and then along the river. You will cross two bridges before beginning the steep ascent to Namche which is a suitable place for Stage 1 acclimatization. Be aware that there are no tea houses or lodges on this path, so ensure that you have ample water to get you to the top. In addition, you are now heading into a high altitude area, so take it easy. Even the fittest people are prone to altitude sickness. |
Day 4: Acclimatization Day/Rest Day - Namche Bazaar This day is to be spent acclimatising and may be taking some gradual walks to get used to lower oxygen levels. Trek to Sangmatha National Park headquarters for some great panoramic views of himalayan ranges. You could also visit a local museum. |
Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m, 5 hours, 10km) The first half of the walk is fairly simple and easy. After a pleasant walk of 2 hours, you come to a small place at Shanasa. Here you can see the colorful Danphe pheasant, which is the national bird of Nepal and might also get a chance to have a look at the musk- deer and also the Himalayan Thar, which is a mountain goat that looks like an antelope. After a strenuous walk for an hour in the end, you would reach the religious Buddhist entrance which lies just before Tengboche. |
Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m, 6 hours, 11km) Today’s trek begins through a rich forest full of birch, juniper, fir, rhododendron etc; to arrive at lovely Deboche, 3,650 meters. Here you get the best views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse. From here, the walk is mostly up-hill and continues to be so until you reach a large mani- wall gate. From here the way to Dingboche is divided into two paths. One of the paths towards Dingboche also goes through Pangboche. You can take this route to see more views and natural beauty. |
Day 7: Acclimatization Day/Rest Day - Dingboche Dingboche is your stage 2 acclimatisation halt. It is a lovely green mountainous place. You could also opt for a 4 hour stroll to Chucking, 4,730 m which has some of the best views of mountain ranges around. We can take a small hike to get a view of worlds three top mountain peaks, Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu and Mount Cho Yu. Besides these, you will see plenty of peaks and mountain ranges. |
Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche (4940m, 6-7hours, 11-12km) Trek today will give you some excellent views of Mt. Tawache, Ama Dablam, Pokalde and the great wall of Nuptse. Don't miss the last Tea houses at Thugla from where it’s a 3 hrs of tough trek to Lobuche. You will enjoy this. |
Day 9: Lobuche to Gorakshep (5170m) - Everest Base Camp (5364m) - Gorakshep Today is the big day when you would be at feet of the EVEREST. In a couple of hours down the valley passing moraines and glacial ponds you arrive at Gorakshep. And then following the lead sherpa begins a strenuous and slow ascent to reach your mission - the Everest Base Camp. Soak in the amazing views of the Khumbu ice fall and may be meet the summiteers expeditions if you are there in expeditions season. We then take a few pics and trek back to Gorakshep for the night stay. |
Day 10: Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5,545m) - Dingboche (4,360m, 7-8 hours, 15km) Today we wish to take a great view of the Everest and that is the reason we take a trek to Kalapatthar. It’s a strenuous and steep climb, but then the Mt. Everest views from here are the best and upclose you would ever have. |
